Camping Indeed... Its suffice to say that we only endured one night of it. I definately would love to back and try the same campground again, when its NOT monsoon season. My friends husband and I road up early (before his wife and Rob got off work) so we could get his boat in the water and start setting up our tents and unloading. We were watching the skies which got pretty well black, so we scrambled to get the tents up. I got all of the tent up minus the stakes (couldn't find a hammer) and the rainguard which it was so windy getting flipping over and coming over to the side I was dragging it too. So by then another family was there and had pity on us, they helped me get the rainguard on. :) Beautiful park, beautiful views (nooo I didn't take one picture of it because it was drizzley. So we had sandwiches that evening and let the kids play next to the camp site. Rob and I stayed up with the drinking folks for a while and then headed to bed, by then it had rained a couple times, but light stuff. Well, when we got in the tent the skies let loose. I don't think any of us got that great of a sleep because of the wind, rain, raccoons (like 6 times I had to shew them away from a rubbermaid container of citronella candles) , had to go potty, then I heard some people (friends) down at the other end talking and doing things and I walked down there to find out they to had been visited by the racoon. Went laid back down only for the monsoon to ensue again. Ok, so 6 am Ryan is wide eyed bushy tailed and begins to slowly wake everyone. So we get up and its COLD and windy as all heck. Ethan had the unfortanate problem of having 4 bites under his arm and on his arm pit from something called a Blister Beetle. And it basically look I took an object and burned the heck out of his skin. Well I didn't realize I had one on my face and rubbed only to find that it was a little painful. From there we decide to head to the restaurant for breakfast as everything is wet and we were craving a warm meal. Came back and it had started to warm some. Took the kids to the swimming pond, played on the playground and then back to the site to fish and start boating. Ate lunch at that point we decide that last night's lack of sleep was kicking our butts. Hang out play in the water, talk some more go out in the boat some more and then came back to break down tents. We make dinner barely get finished and the skies let loose again. So we get the rest packed in the rain and head out. OMG! We slept good last night/this am, Rob at 10:30 is still crashed out. I am off to get stuff done around here for the birthday party next weekend. Pictures to follow later.
